Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell has announced the appointment of Jo Rae Wagner, president of CTO, Inc., a commercial plumbing-heating- cooling contractor in Harlingen, Texas to the Harlingen Airport Board, which operates Valley International Airport.

Wagner is very actively involved in both her community and her industry. She has served on the state and national levels of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC) and is presently the organizations immediate past president. She was the first woman to serve on the PHCC national board and only the second woman to hold the position of president since the organization was founded in 1883. Wagner also served as a board member and president of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), and is a member of the Association of General Contractors (AGC). Wagner is a current member of City of Harlingen Board of Construction & Appeals and a past trustee with Harlingen Utility Board.

Bryan Duffy, chairman of the Harlingen Airport Board said, Jo Rae Wagner is well respected in the Rio Grande Valley as someone committed to her community. She will be an enormous asset to the Airport Board as well as to our passengers and visitors, and it will be a privilege to serve with her.

Jo Rae Wagner said of the announcement, VIA is the largest airport in the Rio Grande Valley and a first class facility. Nearly one million passengers and visitors walk through our terminal every year. As the Valley continues to grow, the Airport Board will serve an increasingly important role, and I look forward to working with fellow board members to continuing to make VIA one of the best facilities in the nation.

The airport board sets long-range policies and strategies for Valley International Airport, the regions largest passenger and air cargo facility.

Valley International Airport serves over 800,000 passengers a year and is the home to Southwest Airlines, Continental Express, Sun Country Airlines, DHL, Federal Express, UPS, BAX Global and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
