Valley International Airport hires New Assistant Director
Patrick Rhodes, A.A.E., has been named Assistant Director of Aviation for Valley International Airport, Harlingen Airport Board Chairman Dr. James D. Rowe announced today. Rhodes will manage airport improvement programs, construction projects, day-to-day airfield operations, and airfield and building maintenance. Patrick Rhodes has more than 18 years of experience in airport management and ten years as an Air Force pilot, said T. Michael Browning, A. A. E., VIA?s Director of Aviation. His experience with airfield operations, program management, and construction were factors that led to the decision to choose him for this position.
Rhodes served as airport manger at Victoria Regional Airport for 9 years before accepting the Assistant Director position at Valley International Airport. He graduated from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Architectural Construction and later earned a Masters of Arts degree in Public/Business Administration from Webster College in St. Louis, Missouri. The opportunity to be Assistant Director for Valley International Airport definitely fulfills one of my goals, Rhodes said. My family and I think the Valley is a wonderful place. Rhodes and Diane, his wife of 35 years, have two sons, Brian and Jason.
