Mayor Appoints Edmund Cyganiewicz To Valley International Airport Board
Mayor Richard Rodriguez has named former South Padre Island Mayor Edmund Cyganiewicz as the newest member of the board of directors at Valley International Airport. Cyganiewicz is an active civic leader in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and brings experience in city and county government to the board.
Edmund has been a strong advocate for the Valley for more than 20 years, said Mayor Rodriguez. His experience as a Mayor, Alderman and Assistant District Attorney, along with the many boards he has led in the community, is an asset to the leadership of the airport board.
Cyganiewicz is a certified criminal law specialist, and former president of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, Texas Municipal League Region 12, Texas Shore and Beach Association and World Birding Center Community Council to name a few. I look forward to working with Chairman Jim Springfield and my fellow board members on the important issues that face Valley International Airport, said Cyganiewicz. I will focus my attention on addressing the growth needs of our region and how to best serve the current and future travelers who use our services.
Valley International Airport serves over 400,000 passengers a year and is the home for Southwest Airlines, Continental Express, Sun Country Airlines, DHL, Federal Express, UPS, BAX Global and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
