VALLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFFERS EXPEDITED SCREENING FOR TSA PRE✓™ MEMBERS

The Valley’s largest airport now offers TSA Pre-Check members expedited screening for

 Southwest Airlines & United Express

HARLINGEN, Texas – Getting through security lines at Valley International Airport (VIA) just became easier for some passengers. VIA announces it now offers expedited screening for Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Express passengers who are members of the TSA Pre™ program. This new service will expedite the check-in process, enabling passengers to leave on their shoes, belts and outerwear, when going through TSA screening.

In addition to being able to wear shoes, belts and outerwear, TSA Pre™ members at airports that have dedicated program lanes are not required to remove laptops from their cases, and will be able to easily walk through the metal detector to the boarding gate. Not all these benefits are offered at VIA, but passengers enrolled in TSA Pre™ will still experience many of the perks of membership, such as leaving their shoes on.

“We are excited to announce that TSA Pre™ members can now experience expedited screening for Southwest Airlines and United Express flights,” VIA Aviation Director Michael Browning said. “We are committed to providing our customers with the best travel experience, and this will make help make that possible.”

TSA Pre™ is one of many initiatives aiming to provide the most effective yet efficient security to airline passengers. To enroll in TSA Pre™, you must complete a 20-minute questionnaire and undergo an in-person interview with Customs and Border Protection personnel. TSA Pre™ are also subject to fingerprinting, as well as a criminal background check. United States citizens, permanent United States residents, and Canadian citizens who are members of the NEUS alternative inspection program are eligible for TSA Pre™. Those convicted of treason, crimes of terrorism, improper distribution of hazardous materials, unlawful possession of explosives, and other felonies are not eligible for TSA Pre.
