Luv In The Valley
February 11 marked the 35th anniversary of Southwest Airlines flying to Harlingen. The festivities involved a wedding, renewal of vows, reception and more. State Senator Eddie Lucio, praised Southwest Airlines for believing in the Valley and thank them for the 35 years they have been servicing the community. Dr. Bonnie De la Rosa, chairman Pro-Tem of the airport board, Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell, also said a few words on the special milestone, followed by a few words from Teresa Laraba, VP of Customer Relations for Southwest Airlines. The airline held a contest on their website for couples to write in how they first met and fell in love. The winner won a wedding and a reception at the airport, in addition to a honeymoon to a destination of their choice serviced by Southwest Airlines.
