Dr. Bonnie De La Rosa Villarreal, a practicing dentist in Harlingen, is very active in her hometown community serving on the Harlingen Parks and Recreation Board of Directors, volunteering for Dentists Who Care, and the Harlingen Junior League. She is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Harlingen and Weslaco, Valley Baptist Foundation Circle and St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1995 and completed her Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2001. After working closely with Dr. Mackie for many years, they became partners and formed Rio Vista Dentistry in 2006.

Dr. Bonnie was appointed by Mayor Rick Rodriguez and currently serves as chairwoman of the Harlingen Airport Board. Her term will expire March 2011.
